Rachel Ann Walker, 75, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at home surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with cancer.

She was a Christian and a life long resident of Kanawha County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel Taylor; sister, Lettie O'Neil; brother, Eldon Taylor; sister-in-law, Gertrude Taylor; grandson, Scotty Ladd; great grandchildren, William L. Ervin, II and Jordan Nichole Ladd.

Survived by husband of 57 years, Noble L. Walker; son and wife, Terry and Becky Walker of Elkview; daughters and husbands, Carolyn and Billy Hicks of Sissonville; Bobbie and Greg Hudson of Given; sister and husband, Kay and Bill Walker of Kenna; Brothers and wives, Harold Taylor, Ernest and Ruby Taylor, Charles and Mary Taylor all of Sissonville, Dorsel and Phyllis Taylor of Kenna; grandchildren and spouses, Angel and Chris Reed, Nikki and William Ervin of Sissonville, Jessie Hudson of Given, Megan and Eric Shockey of Cottageville, Timmy and Heidi Ladd of Cincinnati, OH; step grandchildren, Bill, Jessie and Justin Hicks of Sissonville; great grandchildren, Taylor and Brooke Reed, Lance, Dalton and Wyatt Ervin of Sissonville, Hayden Shockey of Cottageville and Terry Scott Ladd of Cincinnati, OH; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Very special thanks to the wonderful nurses of HospiceCare of Dunbar that took care of Rachel and a special thanks to Teresa Taylor of Sissonville for her extended help.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, at Sissonville Memorial Gardens, Grapevine Road, Sissonville, with the Rev. Clifton D. Thaxton officiating.

There will be no visitation.
