Obituary

Ramona "Pennie" Hensley Mullins Price of Teays Valley, WV and formerly Ft, Myers, FL took her final breath on May 14, 2024 at the age of 79.

Pennie was the first of two daughters born in St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, WV to the late Lillie Clark Hensley and Oval Hensley.

Ramona, as she was known in school, was a 1962 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School.  She lived most of her life in the Kanawha Valley and grew up on Charleston's west side. She also lived in Amarillo, TX, Columbus, OH, and Ft, Myers, FL. After working in various construction and medical offices, she retired from the WV Board of Medicine and became a snowbird, spending winters in FL, even though she loved snow. (The sacrifices we make for our spouses).

She liked birds and watched for a family of tree swallows to return to her birdhouse each spring. Pennie was a quilt maker and a member of Hurricane Quilt Guild, flower gardener, and dabbled in crafting and scrap booking. She loved babies and volunteered in the NICU at Thomas Memorial Hospital until her physical problems prevented her from continuing.

Pennie was a member of the Gable Gals, a group of friends who lived in The Gables of Teays and met monthly for lunch. She was a charter member of Charleston's Crimson Chicks, a chapter of the Red Hat Society. She was a born-again Christian (often disobedient, but our God is a forgiving God), and attended Cross Lanes Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by her first husband/father of her children, Robert Mullins.

She is survived by her husband, James "Allen" Price ( Peewee to his friends); sister, Barbara England of St. Albans; son, David Mullins and his wife, Kim, of Lexington, KY and their daughter, Sydney, of Seattle, WA; daughter, Catherine Mullins Wilson, her husband, Tim, and their sons Andrew and Jacob of Cross Lanes, WV; and a step-son, Blair Price, of Ft. Myers, FL.

Pennie's family was her greatest pride and joy. She loved spending time with them more than anything else.
