Ramonia
Atkinson
June 9, 1936 – April 16, 2017
Ramonia "Momma June" Atkinson, 80, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 with her loving family by her side.
June was born to William and Ethel Atkinson on June 9, 1936 in St. Albans. She was a 1954 graduate of St. Albans High School.
June was a loving and devoted mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known as "Momma June" by many. She had the biggest heart and was there for anyone who needed her. Her life was at its fullest when she was spending time with her family and friends playing games, and listening to gospel and country music. She will be greatly missed by many, but her body was tired and God has called her to her heavenly home. May her life always live in your warmest memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ethel Atkinson; her sister, Rosalee Reed; her brothers, Ralph, Melvin, and Kenneth Atkinson.
June is survived by her children, Deborah (Jim) Atkinson, Pamela Harmon, Terri (Richard) Mitchell, Sherri (Greg) Woods; grandchildren, Brittany (Andrew) and Cody Harmon, Taylor (Wes) and Gabrielle Ballard, Courtney (Anthony) Internicola; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Harmon, Addison Tully, Layla and Jameson Internicola. She is also survived by her brother, William "Billy" (Dottie) Atkinson; brother-in-law, Earl Reed; sister-in-law, Charlotte Atkinson; and many nieces and nephews. With a special mention to her cousin and best friend, Sue Ring; best friends, Charlotte, Gail, and Teri, her "other" daughter, Yvonne Perkins; special friend of the family, Mike McKeny; and many others she held dear to her heart.
Per June's wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of her life with family and friends will be held at a later date.
