Obituary

Ray Stinson, 49, of Charleston, peacefully went to be with the Lord when he passed away on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008.

He had a courageous battle with cancer and was blessed with only a few days of suffering. He worked alongside his wife, Lisa as a consultant. She operates Brass Pineapple B&B on Virginia St. He was committed to helping others and enjoyed his life.

He was a graduate of Greenbrier West High School, West Virginia University and obtained his masters from University of Charleston. He served in the Army National Guard for twenty years and retired as Captain of 111th Engineer Corp in St Albans.

Ray is survived by a loving family including his wife, Lisa. His parents, Norma and Kenneth McClung of Rupert; his daughter, Billie Dawn Stinson of Charleston; his son, Jordan Stinson and his wife, Tina of Charleston; his sisters Marie Gaynor, of Charleston, Deborah Cruse of Valley Bend, Randa McClung of Aiken, SC, and Lora Gabbert of Mcross, WV; and his granddaughter, Susan Jace Prigozen. Mr. Stinson was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Devon McClung.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 11am, at Maranatha Fellowship Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ray Stinson Memorial Fund at Members Choice Credit Union, PO Box 20040, Charleston, WV 25362.
