Raymond L. Burgess, 74, of Cross Lanes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 23, 1947 on Charleston, to the late Albert and Fannie Burgess.

Raymond was a graduate of Fayetteville High School. He retired from the Ironworkers Local 301 where he worked for 40 years. He was a loving husband and father for 53 years.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Helen Burgess; son, Eric Burgess of Cross Lanes; and his brother, Mike Burgess and wife Mary of St. Albans.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar with Pastor Joe Ballard officiating. Entombment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
