Raymond Daniel “Danny” Day, 77, of Poca, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, 2026 after a long illness surrounded by family.
He was born in Amonate, VA on August 26, 1948 to the late Raymond S. Day and Vada Jackson Day Norris.
Danny was a 1966 graduate of Nitro High School. He owned and operated his own business in Florida with his best friend, Bill McClanahan. After moving back to West Virginia, he worked at Allen Lucas Nissan, Lester Raines Nissan, and Allstar Car Care before he and Bill once again went into business together. In 2001 they opened Teays Valley Import and Domestic Auto repair in Teays Valley. Danny worked there until he retired in 2019. On Sundays, he could be found at Shekinah Glory Assembly. Danny enjoyed working on his antique cars and going to car shows. He also liked watching and attending NASCAR racing events.
Left to cherish Danny’s memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Debra C. Day; his son, Jonathan Day (Paula) of Redhouse, WV; his daughter, Tina Kirkland of Austin Texas; his stepdaughter, Cindy Pauline (Dallas) of Sissonville, WV; his stepson, Zachary Fisher (Nichole) of Charleston, WV; his sisters, Cathy Tobia (Rick) of Nitro, WV and Vicky Shamblin of Hometown, WV; his grandkids, Dallas Keith, Jessica, Whitney, Brooke, Kirsten, Cole, Blake, Brayden, Landon, and Elodie; along with his great-grandkids, DK, Denver, Magnolia, Maxine, and Josh.
The family would like to thank Hospice Care with a special thank you to Elizabeth for all of her loving care and support.
