Reba Lee Shamblin, 82, of Cross Lanes, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, on Monday, June 12, 2006 in Thomas Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. She is now in the arms of the angels.
Reba was born April 29, 1924, in Paradise. She lived in Dunbar and raised five daughters, before moving to Cross Lanes in 1965. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a Christian and raised her family in the church. She was a member of the Dunbar Church of the Nazarene and Tyler Heights Church of the Nazarene. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Farley and Tennessee Douglas; brothers, Charles "Bud" Douglas and Harless Douglas; son-in-law, Joey Scarberry; grandson, Kenneth Shawver; great-grandsons, Richard Beary and Anthony Curry.
Mrs. Shamblin is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Otmer L. Shamblin; daughters, Jean Beary of Nitro, Vivian Knight of Cross Lanes, Patsy Honaker, and husband, Richard of Alum Creek, Rebecca Marlowe of Charleston, Penny Patton, and husband, Doug of Poca; Arvilla France, and husband, Chester of Cross Lanes, Lillian Honaker of Connecticut, Delores McNealy, and husband, Dennis of Nitro; brothers, David "Gilbert" Douglas, and wife, Vicky of Massachusetts; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2006, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Billy Cline officiating. Interment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
