Rebecca Ann Garten, known as "Peachy," was born February 9, 1961 and died, as she wished, on July 30, 2007.
She was a graduate of South Charleston High School and Baton Rouge General Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her R.N. She also attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. Most of her working career was spent in Labor & Delivery and Neo-Natal Intensive Care. She was very dedicated to taking care of her patients.
Peachy is survived by her parents, William H. and Peggy Garten, of South Charleston, her brother, Chris Garten and his wife, Victoria of Marietta, OH; sisters, Mary Kay Garten of Baltimore, MD, Carol Long of South Charleston, and Patty Bowles and her husband, Randy of Southbury, CT; niece Laura Bowles and nephew, Philip Bowles of Southbury, CT. She is also survived by a host of friends wherever she lived.
Peachy's friends and family will miss her dearly.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Peachy will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. Rev. Mr. John Hanna will preside at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 "E" Street, South Charleston, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to: Dunbar Animal Hospital, % Diana L. Egnor, D.V.M., 1419 Dunbar Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
