Reginald Lennie Cox, 90, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 7, 2008.
He was born on Sunday, October 28, 1917 in Smithers, WV, to the late Homer W. and Maggie Cox. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Walter and two sisters, Madgie and Cleo.
Lennie was a long standing member of the Northside Church of the Nazarene, a veteran of the US Army and served as a private in WW II. He was awarded the following decorations: European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksmanship Ribbon, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star
for valor and the French Liberation Medal.
Mr. Cox is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Charlotte Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Steve Jones of Richmond, Va; and sister and brother-in-law, Florine and Arthur Stern of St. Albans. Also surviving are his three grandchildren and their wives, Michael and Lee Ann Randolph, Mark and Paula Randolph and Michelle and Chris Staton; and seven great
grandchildren.
Funeral services to honor Lennie's life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 10, at the Northside Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Jerry Cline officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park.
