Richard Honaker, 77, of Dunbar passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023.

He was the son of the late Red and Margaret Honaker.

Richard was always ready to jump in the car for a ride.  He also loved passing time talking with his nephew Matt, and walking to his brother Clayton's house. One of Richard's favorite memories was of the amazing day that he wished would never end that was spent with his sister, Sandra, and her family out on a boat.  He enjoyed going on trips with his sister, Sharon, and he always managed to make those trips special. Richard always bragged on his neighbor Mackenzie's cooking, and appreciated her kindness.  He realized the importance of family, and was always around his loved ones. Richard was a loving brother, friend, and neighbor.

He was an amazing person that everyone looked after and cared for.  We will miss his stories, his laugh, and his sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, David Honaker.

He is survived by his sisters, Sharon Shepherd (David), Sandra Boardman (Jimmy); brother, Clayton Honaker (Jeanie); nieces, Kimberly, Michelle, Nola, Tammy, and Tracy; nephews, Matt (Mackenzie), Jimmy, and David; great-nieces, Everleigh and Briella; and great-nephew, Myles.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.  Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
