Obituary

Richard James, 68, of Charleston, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, after a brief illness.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He was retired from KRT after 23 years of service. He also worked for Putnam County Schools as a bus driver until he became ill.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia James; and his sister, Karen Mounts.

He is survived by his sons, Michael James of Charleston, Clayton James of Parkersburg; four grandchildren; sisters, Norma Witt (Verril) of Nitro, Emma Bays of St. Albans; brothers, Buddy Lee James of North Carolina, George James(Peggy) of Colorado, Grover James of South Charleston, John James (Julie) of Nitro, Tom James (Lynn) of Nitro, and Bruce James of St. Albans.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Institute, with Pastor Erin Daniels officiating.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
