Robert "Bob" Lee Miller

Robert Lee “Bob” Miller, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on July 13, 2026, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, West Virginia.

Born on January 3, 1937, Bob lived a life defined by his Christian faith, and love for his family and others. A lifelong member of North Charleston Baptist Church, Bob faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years.

Bob graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School before earning a degree at Morris Harvey College. He dedicated 38 years of his professional life to Union Carbide, working in the Catalysts Laboratory at the Tech Center.

Nothing brought Bob greater joy than his family. He and his beloved wife, Nina Jean Miller, shared a marriage for 67 years that reflected enduring faith, commitment, and unconditional love. Together they built a home where family always came first.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nina Jean Miller; his parents, Harry and Pearl Miller; his siblings; and numerous in-laws.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Steven Miller (Michelle), Mark Miller (Maria Medeiros-Miller), and Melissa Caylor (George); his grandchildren, Quinton, Luca, Dillon, Maura, Judah, and George; his step-granddaughter, Natasha (Brandon); his step-great-grandsons, Connor and Callum; his twin sister, Betty Jo Witzkie; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Those fortunate enough to know Bob will remember not only his kindness and gentle humor, but also the simple phrase that reflected his outlook on life: “We’re just chugging right along.” It was more than an expression—it was a quiet testimony of gratitude, perseverance, and trust. His example will continue to guide and inspire all who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at North Charleston Baptist Church on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hubbard House in Charleston in Bob’s memory.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
