Robert Grant "Bob" Buchanan, 71, of Dunbar, passed away at home July 5, 2007, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bob was born Nov. 30, 1935 in Charleston to the late Charles and Lucille Buchanan. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1953 and attended Morris Harvey College. Bob retired from Union Carbide and continued to work for MTI Engineering and Rhone Poulenc. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed gardening and playing golf.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Deloris, whom he married Nov. 25, 1955; sons, Robert II and his wife, Dreama of Parkersburg, Gregory and his wife, Karen of Poca; grandsons, Robert III and his wife, Amy of Gaithersburg, Md, Nicholas and his wife, Jennifer of Sebring, Fla., Zachery of Parkersburg, Beau of Poca; granddaughter, Hannah of Poca; great grandchildren, Caleb, Deacon and Eidan of Gaithersburg, Md; and brother, Charles of Dunbar.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 8, at the Dunbar Mountain Mission with the Rev. Billy Lucas and the Rev. James Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family wishes to extend their love and appreciation to Dr. Malcolm Chaney and staff for their compassionate care, Dr. Charles Abaaba, Bob's brother, Charles and to Joan Spears for always being their to lend a helping hand.
