Robert A. Dale, 81, of Dunbar, passed away on October 6, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House West.

A family man, Bob adored his wife, Dorothy Lewis Dale, and called her "the love of his life." Bob and Dorothy enjoyed a marriage that was "meant to be," for 55 years. He was proud of the accomplishments of his children and looked forward to seeing what his grandchildren could do. He was willing to work long hours to support and provide extra things for his family.

Bob was proud of his service in the U.S. Army, where he served six years, including service in Korea for 19 months.

Bob worked for Exxon Mobile Company for 30 years as a delivery truck driver and later as a dispatcher. He was known as "Bobby 12" for his willingness to work overtime.

Bob was saved at the age of 27 years old. He became a Bible scholar and worked diligently for the Lord until illness intervened. He was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church and most recently First Baptist Church of Dunbar.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his sister, Sherry Bobbitt of Dunbar, sister in law, Edna Dale of Winter Haven, Florida, a host of friends, several cousins and his four children: Cynthia (David) Clay, Kimberly (Rick) Dearing, Michael (Heather Knight) Dale and Dr. Robert Andrew Dale. He dearly loved his grandchildren Emilee Grace Dearing, Lillian Kate Dearing, Samuel Aaron Clay, Caleb Gardner Dale, and Oliver Everett Dale.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dunbar Institute Samaritan Center, 223 ½ 16 ^th St., Dunbar, WV 25064 or Hubbard Hospice House West, 4605 MacCorkle Ave., SW, South Charleston, WV 25309.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes,
