Robert Dewey Light, 86, of Dunbar, joined his wife and daughter on Thursday morning, September 28, 2017.

Robert was born in Springton to the late George Dewey and Mabel Light. He lived most of his life in Dunbar. He was married on September 2, 1956 to his loving wife, Marian Light , who entered Heaven on March 2, 2017.

Robert served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Beni Kedem Shriners in Charleston.

He was a passionate man who loved spending time with his family and getting away to the outdoors. He was also very passionate about his work and his customers. Robert enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed helping others.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Elaine Zimmerman ; and sister, Geraldine Street.

He is survived by his son, Robert Michael Light; brother and best friend, Gordon Louis Light; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, at the West Virginia Mausoleum Chapel in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the mausoleum chapel.
