Obituary

Robert "Mac" Thomas McClain, 83, of St. Albans, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 after a long illness.

He was a veteran of World War II, retired from Carpenter's Local 1207, avid hunter, fisherman, bowler and softball player for Union Carbide Corporation.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Alice Ruth McClain, parents, Melvin T. and Leatha S. McClain; brothers, Basil and Willard McClain; sister, Mona McClain and favorite uncle, Nelson Sellers.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine B. McClain; brother, Wayne McClain of Columbus, OH; sister, Gladys Bishop of North Matewan; daughters, Donna Johnson and husband Jerry of Hurricane, Lee Ann Phalen and husband Dusty of St. Albans, Anita McClain of Elkview, Karen Holmes and husband Daryll, and Bridgett Morrill and husband Ted all of Stuarts Draft, VA, John Chance Lee and family of Washington state. Bob is also survived by grandchildren, Steven and Karen Johnson of Hurricane, Krista and David Flora of Culloden, Robin and Eric Sylvester of Hurricane, Megan Pearson of St. Albans, Jaime Willard of Richmond, VA, Zach Phalen of St. Albans, Linnea and Mandy Holmes, Hunter Watkins, Talon and Sierra Morrill all of Stuarts Draft, VA; and great grandchildren, Timothy, Courtney, Justin Johnson all of Hurricane, Alicyn and Madison Flora both of Culloden, Elayna Sylvester of Hurricane.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Roger Eskins officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
