Robert William Parsons, 76, of Dunbar, WV passed away on February 11, 2024.

Robert "Bob" was born February 9, 1948 to Robert J Parsons and Freda Bays in South Charleston, WV.

He was a graduate of South Charleston High School.  Bob served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran where he earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with valor.  After his service he spent 20 plus years with the South Charleston Fire Department where he retired. Bob loved spending time with family and sitting in his gazebo with his best buddy Brody (the beagle) and talking with his longtime friend and neighbor, Howard; or anyone that wanted to stop and chat.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Sherry Parsons; son, Mathew Parsons; and sister, Talisa Brunette.

Bob is survived by his sons, Jamie Parsons (Tamera) and Chad Casto (Cary); daughter, Lindsay Barnett (James); grandchildren, Christian Casto and Evie Casto; brothers, Steve Parsons (Linda) and David Parsons (Debbie); and his best buddy, Brody.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.  Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
