Robert "Rick" Silman, 62, of Charleston went home to meet the Lord on November 2, 2010.
He was born October 3, 1947 in Charleston. He was a graduate of Charleston High School Class of 65 and went on to City College majoring in drafting. He worked at the General Motors Corporation, Buick Division in Flint, Michigan. He later retired with 23 years of service from the Charleston Fire Department.
Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents Macel and Carl Richardson of Charleston.
He is survived by his parents, Carol and Fred Bowen of Nitro; daughter, Lisa Gill and husband Darin of Collegeville, PA; 2 grandchildren, Mackenzie and Brendan Gill; brother, Gary Silman and wife Rita of Charleston; sisters, Debra Hill and husband Kent and Nancy Shank and husband Michael both of Hurricane. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 6, at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar with the Rev. John Prichard officiating. Honor Guard will be provided by the Charleston Fire Department. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
