Robert F. (Bob) Stevens, 64 years old of Cross Lanes, passed away, Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital in St. Francis.
He was a retired Command Sergeant Major from the U.S. Army with almost 25 years of Service, with tours in Vietnam, Korea and Germany. He also retired from the Kanawha County Board of Education as a custodian at McKinley Middle School.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert F. Stevens, mother Terry L. Carney, sister, Martha S. Varner, Stepfather Willard (Bill) Carney and grandmother, Zelma Adamson.
Surviving are his wife of 45 1/2 years, Shelba, sons Mark and Scott of Cross Lanes and Todd of Nitro; granddaughter, Alyse Stevens of Georgia; brother Edward Carney and wife Sandy of Virginia, sister Cheryl Arthur and husband Rusty of Hurricane.
The family would like to thank Select Specialty Staff for their care and kindness.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 19 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Chaplain Jack Rinchich officiating and burial following at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
