Obituary

Robert "Bob" Covosso Tillis, of Charleston, was born on September 24, 1928 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 3, 2012.

He loved and cherished his family and will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Bob was a devoted member of The Seventh Day Adventist Church of Charleston where he enjoyed to worship. He lived with great anticipation for the day that he could meet his Savior face to face, and see the place he had prepared for him.

Bob had never met a stranger, loved to sit and talk about his time in the Army, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was in the U.S. Army with the Corp of Engineers, where he was proud to serve his country as an electrician. He was a retired mechanic from Mason Dixon Trucking.

Bob is preceded in death by his father, George William Tillis Sr.; mother, Geneva Susan Tillis; and brother, George William Tillis Jr.

Bob is survived by his brother Fred R. Tillis Sr. and his wife Hannah of Charleston; life long friend, Josephine Jones formerly of Charleston; niece Debby Adkins of Charleston; nephews, Fred R. Tillis Jr. and Kelly L. Tillis both of Charleston.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, at Charleston Seventh Day Adventist Church on Kanawha Blvd. Charleston. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, where there will be military rites.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar.
