Roberta Marie Burdette, 88, of Sissonville, went to be with the Lord peacefully on July 7, 2025.

She was born in Jackson County, WV on January 27, 1937 to the late Donald and Cuma Casto.

Roberta was a remarkable woman whose love and compassion touched the lives of all that knew her.  She was a devoted Christian, mother, and friend who was a beacon of life to whom people gravitated.  She fought a good fight, ran the course, and kept her faith.  Though we mourn her passing, we find solace in knowing she is now in her Savior's hands.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Burdette; her beloved son, Donald Patterson; her granddaughter, Carrie Harper; along with her two brothers and three sisters.

Roberta was deeply loved by her daughters, Helen Fields and Robin Carpenter (Roger); her cherished grandchildren, Roger Carpenter (Amy), Jeremy Patterson (Kista), Amanda Legg (Eric), and Joshua Patterson.  She also leaves behind a host of great and great-great grandchildren.

She was loved by her sisters, Nola Hart (Ronnie) and Barbara Taylor (Robert).  She also had countless nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend heart felt gratitude to Hospice Care for their loving kindness and care; sisters, Nola and Barbara; niece, Sherry Walker; great-niece Lindsay Walker; and special friend, Ruth Haynes who stayed by Roberta's side until the very end.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with burial to follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will welcome visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
