Obituary

Roger Marvin Echols Sr., 82, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2023.

Roger worked at Union Carbide and Rhone Poulenc for nearly 30 years, before retiring in 1997. He was a proud member of the Masonic Temple 152, Eastern Star, the Shriners and former Dunbar city councilman.

He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin W. Echols; mother, Ruth Osha; brother, Edwin "Ralph" Ramsey; and his wife's parents, Olther L. And Clela A. Womack.

Roger leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Clearel Joyce (Womack) Echols. He was a loving father to Cheryl (David) Perry of Cross Lanes, and Roger (Liza) Echols II of Riverside, RI. He was also a proud grandfather to Zachary Perry, Matthew Perry and Olivia Echols, and great paw to Fletcher Perry and Sullivan Perry.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 27, at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial in St. Albans.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
