Ronald Gerald Harvey, 84, of Dunbar, went home to be with Jesus on December 12, 2025.
He was born on May 2, 1941, to Lucille Harvey. He was a lifelong resident of Dunbar.
He worked at Monsanto for 43 years. He attended Buffalo Church of God. Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed spending time in Oak Island, NC. Hobbies included hunting with his grandchildren, growing flowers, and making candy at Christmas. He never met a stranger, whether he was at the mall or at one of the many sporting events he attended to support his family. Sunday dinners were a beloved tradition for Ronald and Adabell, one that helped keep their family close and connected. He selflessly served others with a loving heart and will be forever missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Adabell; his mother, Lucille Harvey Temple; infant son, Johnny; brothers, Virgil Ray Harvey, Glen Harvey, and Dallas Harvey; daughter-in-law, Mary Harvey.
Ronald is survived by his children, Ronnie Harvey of Dunbar, Sandy Miller (Greg) of Sumerco, Bryan Harvey (Melissa) of Buffalo, and Connie Loudermilk (Tim) of Hurricane. He is also survived by grandchildren, Adam Harvey, Ron Harvey (Victoria), David Harvey (Melissa), Brittini Frame, Racheal Moore (Brandon), Steve Loudermilk (Whitney), Ryan Harvey, and Cole Harvey; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Charlee, Parker, Noah, Lucas, Gavin, Emma, Tanner, Addy, Lily, Kennedy, Reagan, McKinley, Taylor, and baby boy on the way. He is also survived by sister, Linda Thompson; and brother Delmar Harvey.
The Harvey family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers, Brenda Moyer, Tiffany Moyer, and Ali Kidd, as well as dear friend and neighbor, Donna Gail Tucker.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Mitchell Burch officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may visit from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
