"Soke" Ronald L. Hughes, 68, of South Charleston passed away on March 8, 2020.

Soke, was founder of Nai-Huan-Chi Karate Union Incorporated which was made a WV Charter School in 1988.

Ronald was also an avid participant in the reenactments of the 1800's, where he was commonly known as "Thumper".

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ilene Hughes; and sister, Jeannie Ilene Hughes.

Ronald is survived by his twin daughters, Patty Hughes and Kelly Hughes both of South Charleston; his aunt, cousins, and host of extended family.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
