Obituary

Ronald D. McGraw of Cross Lanes, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 after a short illness.

He was at home with his loved ones when his spirit passed. Born March 26, 1934 in Glasgow, he was the son of the late Samuel and Margaret Martin McGraw.

He was also preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 58 years, Carolyn Kay Kidd McGraw, who passed on April 29, 2010. They were members of Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church in Dunbar.

Ron was the owner and operator of Central Glass Company of Charleston and a long time member of the Kanawha Valley Builders Association. Through hard work, determination and a commitment to excel, in 1972 he took a small company that was struggling to survive, to a growing one that flourishes today. He put great value on his relationships with the local construction community and attributed his success to his workers in the field that set high standards of quality and integrity and met them.

Ron was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. His family was his highest priority in life. His most enjoyment came from spending time in the hills and valleys of his beloved West Virginia.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn McGraw and Rodney Engle of St. Albans; daughter, Teresa Williams of Cross Lanes; son, Scott McGraw of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Rachel Williams of Cross Lanes and Jeffery Williams of Nitro; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Virginia McGraw of Beckley, Kyle McGraw and Shirley McGraw of South Vienna, OH and sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Bill Lee of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Kelly.

A memorial service will be held at noon Friday, May 18, at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar, with Pastor Bruce McGraw of Orange, TX officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Cedar Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Medical Rehabilitation program at CAMC General Hospital.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
