Rosaliend (Rosie) E. Reid, 86, of Dunbar passed away at Genesis Nursing Home, Friday December 26, 2014.

She was born on May 8, 1928 to the late Cecil Finney and Grace Parsons. She attended Dunbar Mountain Mission and Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Reid, and daughter Diana "Honey" Lynn Reid.

Rosaliend was a member of Dunbar Womens Club and Dunbar Beautification Club. She was an advocate for children and animals. She always made sure underprivileged children had Christmas gifts. She was a hair dresser and owner of the Beauty Bar at the corner of Dunbar Ave and 9th St.

Rosie will be remembered for her sense of humor, strength, spunk and love for family and friends.

She is survived by her sons; William "Bill" Reid and his wife Terri of Dunbar, John "Mike" Reid and his wife Suzanne of Teays Valley; grandchildren; Donna Reid of Dunbar, Steven Reid and his wife Stacey of Dunbar, Jonathan Caruthers, Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Marine Corp. of Sneads Ferry, N.C. and Nicholas Reid of Teays Valley; brother, John Finney and his wife, Betty, of Gallipolis, Ohio; and great-granddaughter; Samantha Reid of Dunbar.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Teays Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassion and care.

Friends and family may call Tuesday, December 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Dunbar Beautification Club, 331 16th St, Dunbar, WV 25064 or Charleston Animal Shelter, 1248 Greenbrier St, Charleston, WV 25301.
