Rose Hanna Musser, 89 of Dunbar died peacefully Friday, December 17,2010, at Chateau Grove Assisted Living home in Barboursville.
Born and raise in Webster County, Rose then attended Glenville St. College and later WV State College, where she received a degree in elementary education. Rose married Ray Baxter Musser in 1941, and after World War II they moved to Dunbar, where they remained lifelong residents. She taught at Ford Elementary School in Dunbar for 25 years, and was a faithful member of the Dunbar First Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Rose was a creative and generous person with a ready giggle and quick wit. She maintained a lively interest in the world around her for as long as she was able to do so. She is greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ray, who died in 1991.
She is survived by her two daughters and their familes, Gloria Pauley and husband Tom of Huntington and Libby Musser and husband Tom Thurman of Liberty.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Jeff Pauley, wife Dena, And children Bradley, Sarah, and Emma of Fairmont; Beth Pauley Watson, husband Mark, and children Jacob and Eli of Milton; Hanna Musser Thurman fo Dunbar, and Caleb Musser Thurman of Morgantown.
Friends may call on the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 20, at Keller Funeral Home.
The service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 21 also at Keller Funeral Home, followed by interment at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes.
