Roy L. Edens, 92, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

He was born November 29, 1924, to the late Roy and Irene Edens.

A veteran of WWII, he served as a flight engineer on B-24's in the Fifth Army Air Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service and Keller Funeral Home. Roy was a member of Genesis Fellowship. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Jean Edens; sister, Helen Laurich; and brother, James Edens.

He is survived by two daughters, Terrie Buckner (Joe) of Hoschton, GA and Cindy Jarrell (Mark) of Charleston; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Roy's life will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 1 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Mark A. Jarrell officiating.

Gathering of family and friends will be held two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

A funeral procession will leave Keller Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 2 for a graveside service at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
