Roy H. Jones, III, 61, of Scott Depot, died Monday, June 25, 2007, in Ruby Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was a 1964 graduate of Charleston High School and was a US Air Force veteran, having been stationed in King Salmon, Alaska, where he served as a radar operator. Mr. Jones retired from Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. after 29 years of service. He also served as vice-president and land manager of Courtney Company and vice-president of Midvale Colliery. He was head of the T-ball division of the Hurricane Baseball League in the mid 1980s. In the 1990s, he ran the Winfield High School Band Booster's concession stand.
He was the son of Virginia Thomas Jones of Lewisburg and the late Roy H. Jones, Jr.
Also surviving are his loving wife, Vicki Edwards Jones of Scott Depot; son, James E. Jones and his wife, Tracy D. of Hurricane; daughter, Sara Beth Jones of Huntington.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Helga Hallet officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.

Roy will be sadly missed by all the lives he touched.
