Ruby O. Hill, of Charleston, entered into heaven's gate on February 7, 2013.

Ruby was born in Kentuck, Jackson County on July 1, 1914 to William and Hettie Jane Casto.

Ruby was predeceased by her parents; her husband, James C. (JC) Hill; son, James Robert (Bob) Hill; three sisters and two brothers.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Joretto Bailey of Portland, Oregon; and son, David Hill and Sharon of Charleston. Ruby leaves behind seven grandchildren Abbe Blake, Mary Jo Topoum, William (Bill) Bailey, James (JC) Hill, Kenneth (KC) Hill, Annette Hill, and Teri Thornbrough; eight great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

Ruby was a 62 year member of Starcher Baptist Church and over a fifty year member of the South Charleston Order of the Eastern Star.

A celebration of Ruby's long life will be held on Tuesday, February 12, at 1 p.m. at Keller Funeral Home Dunbar, with Reverend David Workman officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services will be concluded at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, with interment in the Masonic Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the excellent care provided by Hubbard Hospice Staff during our mother's final days.
