Ruby H. Jordan, 87, of Charleston, died Thursday, May 20, 2010 after a lengthy illness.

Ruby was born September 28, 1922 in Roane County, WV, the daughter of the late L. M. and Emily J. Gandee. She was a graduate of Walton High School. Mrs. Jordan was married for 48 years to the late W. E. (Earl) Jordan.

Ruby is survived by sons and their spouses, Rev. Ronald L. and Mary Sue Jordan of Lenoir City, TN, Stephen D. and Vicki Jordan of Charleston and David E. and Carol Jordan of Charleston; grandchildren, Frank Jordan, Andy (Sheila) Jordan, Barbie Jordan, John (Kristen) Jordan, Emily (Wayne) Hickman, Jessica (Chad) Robinson, Jennifer (Gary) Kinder, Paul Jordan, Reuben Jordan, Melissa and Heather Benjamin; seventeen great grandchildren and one brother, Herbert Gandee of Clendenin.

Ruby was saved in 1947 and was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene in Charleston for 63 years. She was a great wife, mom, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved to cook and entertain family and friends in her home. She loved her Lord, her family and her church. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 24, at the First Church of the Nazarene, Charleston, with the Rev. Randy Lanham officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 23, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Missionary Society, First Church of the Nazarene, 200 Park Avenue, Charleston, WV 25302.
