Ruth Ann Dixon, 84, of Charleston, passed away peacefully in her home on November 16, 2017, with her family by her side.

Ruth was born October 25, 1933 in Charleston to the late Richard Thomas Donegan and Lillian Ann Donegan.

Ruth was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. She retired from Bell Atlantic and was a CWA local 2001 member.

Ruth met the love of her life, Bob Dixon, and they raised their family in Charleston. When Ruth and Bob retired they moved to Chesapeake, VA to be near their children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Melanie Ann Dixon.

Ruth leaves behind her daughters, Jeanine A. Snodgrass, Cynthia C. Ghanem, and Teresa D. Dixon; and her son, Richard J. Dixon. She also leaves behind six beautiful grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Ms. Donna Freeman, who was a caregiver for Ruth for several years.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 20 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Her final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
