Ruth J. Ellison, of Charleston passed at home on January 18, 2015.

She was born October 30, 1934 in Harmony, WV but resided in Charleston for the last 40 years. She was the youngest daughter of the late Otho and Bessie West.

Ruth was a graduate of Walton High School and a lifelong member of Harmony Baptist Church. She most recently attended Providence Baptist Church in Charleston, WV. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and took great pride in her home.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Ray Ellison, Jr.; brother, Guy West and daughter Becky Wilson.

She is survived by her Sons; Mark Wilson of Charleston, Thomas Wilson and his wife Tammy of Murfreesboro, TN, Rodney Wilson and his wife Christine of Follansbee, WV; Daughter Beth Brown of Nashville, TN; Grandchildren Brent Wilson and his wife Jennifer of Clarksville, TN, Gregory Gerichten of St. Albans, WV, Brandon Wilson of Murfreesboro, TN, Ashley Wilson of Murfreesboro, TN; Step grand children, Amanda Lawrence and Abigail Lawrence of Fallansbee, WW; brother, Kenneth and his wife Earlene West of St. Albans

Ruth was loved by many and she will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend deep gratitude and thank you to all the many friends and family that have provided their love and support through a difficult time. The family would also like to thank the staff of HospiceCare, more specifically Jettie Young.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

A short graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, January 21 in Hunt Cemetery, Vicars, WV, Roane County.
