Ruth Ann Harper, 68, of Charleston, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House.
She was born on December 5, 1947 in Charleston to the late Holley and Edna Parsons.
Ruth was a 1965 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, a member of Torch Bearer Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and a former member of Parents without Partners. She had a technician class ham radio license with call sign "KD8YKM". Ruth was a member of Sovine Memorial Church and was a supportive Band and Scout Mother and Grandmother. Her favorite flower was yellow roses.
Ruth was employed by Wal-Mart at the Southridge location since its opening 23 years ago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earnest and Emory Parsons.
Ruth is survived by her son, Daniel "Shane" Harper of Charleston; grandson, Jonathon Mitchel Harper of Charleston; nephews, Dale Parsons, Casey Parsons, Timothy Walker, David Harper; nieces, Amy Parsons Tabor, Toni Walker, Kim Seller; great nephews, Brian Blankenship, Bobby Crusan Jr.; great nieces, Courtney Crusan, Olivia Crusan, Cassie Nelson; aunt, Garnet Rowley and best friend, Jeanie Clawson.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Jack Withrow officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
