Obituary

Sally Ann Lewis Henson of South Charleston passed away peacefully in her home and in her favorite bed on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

Born on March 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Gilbert Lewis and Roma Mae Phillips Lewis.

A graduate of South Charleston High School, Sally attended Marietta College. Throughout her life she worked in accounting and bookkeeping, but her greatest professional joy came from the years she spent as an employee of the West Virginia House of Delegates. Sally was an avid reader, was obsessed with all things British, and spent countless hours enjoying television programming, which nurtured her interest in and affection for King Tut, politics, and the natural world. Either CNN or Blue Planet played continually in her home.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. Steven Henson; son, Jeffrey Lewis Henson; and sisters, Edna Meads and Nancy Edwards. She was also preceded in death by many beloved pets including, but not limited to, Fast Eddie Felson, Bob, Butch, Missy, and of course, Gizmo.

Sally is survived by her daughter, Stefanie Henson Morrison of Saline, Michigan; granddaughters, Jordan Henson of Minford, Ohio and Morgan Henson of Minford, Ohio; grandson, Andy Nussel of Saline Michigan; her "practically perfect" son in law, Scott Morrison of Saline, Michigan; and many loved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Bob (aka "King of the Forest"), Kathy, Mary, and Chase Edwards, who, while not technically family, were just as loved and treasured by Sally as if they were family.

She is also survived by many friends she made over the years, specifically those she made while working for the West Virginia House of Delegates. These include, but are not limited to, Nancy, Harold, Patti, Tracy, Alice, Dave, Tim, Melanie, Larry, and of course, her "Boys," Doug, Daniel, Rupie, Josh, and Ryan.

At Sally's request, there are no services scheduled at this time.

Donations in her honor can be made to Hospice Care 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25312, a group who provided exceptional care and support to Sally during her final days.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
