Obituary

Sam Zifilippo, 83, of Saint Albans, died peacefully in his family's home surrounded by loved ones on July 13, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Zifilippo, daughter, Wanda Wright and son, Larry Romeo.

Sam is survived by his brother, Jimmy Zifilippo of South Charleston; sister, Betty Tallarico of Texas; daughters, Suzann Wheeler of Poca, Linda Brown of Nitro, Ana Graham (David) of South Carolina, Lisa Hancock of South Carolina; son, Jaime Zifilippo (Rose) of St. Albans; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

The family would like to give many thanks to all of his doctors and their staffs, to all the nurses and staff at Thomas Memorial Hospital and to his home health nurses and therapist who made him feel comfortable and loved.

The family would also like to mention and give many, many thanks and love to his daughter-in-law, Rose Zifilippo, who gave that extra special care for him while at home.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17 at Co-Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Charleston with Monsignor Edward Sadie officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Visitation will be held in the hospitality room of the church, 1 hour prior to the Mass.

At his request, instead of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
