Sarah Ellen Miller, 85, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Buford Jividen of Dunbar, after an extended illness.
Ellen lived in Dunbar most of her life with her husband, Charlie Miller who preceded her in death in 1982. Ellen belonged to God and was a member of First Church United Methodist; she was active in the Dunbar Lioness Club. She was a homemaker, mother, loving grandmother, and "GG" great grandmother.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Buford Jividen of Dunbar; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Brenda Miller of Dunbar; granddaughter and husband, Kelly and David Hendricks of Cross Lanes and their children, 3 great granddaughters, Sarah Gerichten of Austin, TX, Elizabeth, and Leah Hendricks of Cross Lanes; grandson, J.B. "Jay" Jividen of Dunbar, his children, great granddaughter, Lauren Jividen and great grandson, Jett Jividen; sisters, Betty Fisher and husband Lyle of Dunbar, Wanda Miller and husband Jim of Cross Lanes; brothers, Albert "Jr." McCutcheon of Spring Hill, Charles McCutcheon and Carol of Kanawha Two-Mile.
In addition to her husband, Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Martha McCutcheon; sisters, Opal Brown Harkins, Juanita Layne; brothers, Roy McCutcheon and Adam McCutcheon.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurse, Sharon Campbell and other staff at Thomas Home Health Care; Dr. John V. Merrifield, Lori and other staff, and brother-in-law, Rev. William Layne of Cross Lanes.
Funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 12, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, Pastor Brad Burdette, Pastor Greg Wallace, and the Rev. Dr. Okey B Harless, Jr. officiating. Private interment service will be held at a later date.
Friends may call from 6:30 until service time Thursday, January 12, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
