Serena C. Hudson Thomas, 79, of Spring Hill, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2006, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a short illness.

Serena was born on September 30, 1927 in Boone County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer O. Thomas; parents, Ezra and Stella Hudson; brother, Cleo Hudson; and sisters, Melba and Jean.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her children, Howard Thomas and his wife, Charleda of Dunbar, Brenda Wilkes, and her husband, Gary of Ohio, Wilmer O. Thomas, II., and his wife, Brenda of Spring Hill, Randell Thomas, and his wife, Cecilia of St. Albans, Nancy Thomas of New Jersey, Pamela Rivera, and her husband, Jorge of New Jersey, Robert Thomas, and his wife, Rachel of South Charleston; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Chuck Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, beside her beloved husband.
