Sheila Skaggs, 71, of Dunbar, died on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness.

She was born on September 23, 1951, the daughter of Randolph and Pauline Skaggs.

She was a lifelong resident of the Dunbar area and was a 1969 graduate of Dunbar High School. Sheila retired from the Dunbar Kroger store, where she worked as a stock clerk and a cashier. She was known for her warm greetings and a big smile.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonita Skaggs Johnson; and her infant son, Randy Jones.

Sheila's surviving relatives are her paternal first cousins, Randall Russell, Richard Russell, Ralph Russell, and Mary Russell Brislin.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, at the Dunbar United Methodist Church where Sheila was a member. The church is located at 1401 Myers Ave.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
