Shelia K. Pauley Wood, 67, of South Charleston, passed away on March 30, 2013 after a short illness.
She was a lifelong member of Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene and very active in Women Ministries, Sunday School, Lights of Bethlehem, Bread of Life, and she was always "in charge." She was a graduate of South Charleston High School and was looking forward to her 50th reunion this summer. She loved kids and spent her life as a homemaker and a beloved babysitter to many. She was a loving Nana and always looked forward to spending time with her "Sweetie Pies." She loved to travel with her family, church ladies, and especially the Pigeon Forge couples.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Pheba Pauley; and brother, Richard E. "Dick" Pauley.
Shelia is survived by her husband, Charles "Woody" Wood; son, Charles Nicholas Wood and wife Sarah of Buchannon; daughter, Dawn Michelle Brown and Husband Chris of South Charleston; grandchildren, Xander and Lydia Wood; several nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Felicia McClung and family.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, at Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene with Dr. John Anderson and Rev. Larry Cheesebrew officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park.
