Sherry Bossie, 63, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 26, 2025.

Sherry was born and raised in Dunbar, graduating from Dunbar High School in 1979 and then with honors from West Virginia University in 1983.  She was a licensed CPA and had a successful career as a director at the West Virginia Housing Development Fund.

Sherry was a devoted daughter, loving sister, and one-of-a-kind aunt.  She was there for her family in moments big and small - every birthday, graduation, beach vacation, and recital, and the ordinary days in between, too.  She was funny and kind, generous and big-hearted, independent and a hard worker.  Her family loved her for all those things but also so much more; for all the little quirks and traits and habits that made her uniquely herself, from the snort in her laugh to her invariable dinner order at Tidewater (that we can all still recite from memory).

Sherry had a way of making everyday moments special, creating memories that her family continues to cherish.  She sang and danced with her nieces, let them jump on her bed and have too many snacks, watched endless episodes of 90210 and Friends, and always made space for them in her home and heart.  The little things mattered to her, all the small moments that, taken together, make up so much of our lives.  But she cared about the big things the most:  her family, her community, her work.  Those were the things she dedicated her life to.

Sherry was preceded in death by her sister, Jill; her mother, Nancy; and her beloved Yorkie, Elle.

Sherry is survived by her sister, Kim; brother, George; and nieces, Sheena, Rachel, Whitney, and Kaitlyn.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Family will welcome visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
