Obituary

Sherry A. Cooper, 62, of Dunbar, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church of Dunbar and worked at Volkswagon of America and the South Charleston Stamping and Manufacturing Plant for 23 years.

Sherry was preceded in death by her loving parents, Freeman and Florence Cooper, sisters, Betty Black and Loraine Spaulding.

Sherry has shared the last 40 years of her life with her dear friend, Jenny Dolin and her two loving and faithful puppies, Lovey Ann and Andy and her children of Dunbar. Sherry is loved so much and played a large role in raising and being a mentor to the following children, Jeannie White, Richard Dolin, Jennifer Hammond, Jena Stump, Melissa Stutler, Richard W. Stutler and Scott Stutler. Sherry we love you. Surviving are sisters June Petty (Bob), Danny Cooper (Abby), Darrell Cooper and Kenneth Cooper (Karen) and a host of nieces and nephews. Sherry has left behind to cherish her memory many dear friends. She has touched their hearts so deeply.

Sherry never lost her sense of humor and always looked for the chance to make someone laugh. She couldn't wait to see all of her new friends at chemo each week so she could make them laugh and lift their spirits.

We send great appreciation to Dr. Jogenpally and his nurses on 2 Front at Thomas Memorial for the excellent care given to Sherry during her last four years. And at the end of her journey we give thanks to the loving nurse at Hospice who walked the last mile with Sherry.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Harold B. White, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Park.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

In honor of Sherry's life there will be a burn pile at her home on Friday evening at 8 p.m. We welcome all of her family and friends.
