Obituary

Sheryl Dee Tate, 56, of Charleston, passed away on September 18, 2021 after a sudden illness.

She was born on October 30, 1964, in Charleston, to David and Mary Payne.

After Sheryl graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1982, she went on to become a travel agent and legal secretary. In 1985, she met Jon Tate and they were soon married. Sheryl and Jon raised two sons, Jonathan and Adam Tate.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Risk; her sister, Leigh Ann Bowlin; and her aunt, Shirley Ann Risk Ozga.

Sheryl is survived by her husband, Jon Tate; sons, Jonathan Tate and Adam Tate (Amanda); grandchildren, Bryce, Aian, Airis, Aurora, Artisan and Aristotle; aunts, Minerva Richardson and Martha Ellis; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
