Shirley Armstead, 66, died on January 4, 2022 in Charleston.
She was born June 3, 1956 in Mullens, to Thelma Brown Cook and raised by Alma Fralin.
Shirley graduated from Beckley Community College and retired as a clerk with the State of West Virginia Workers Compensation Division.
She was an active member and served as a Deaconess of the Levi Baptist Church in Rand.
Some of her hobbies and interests included her family, cooking, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and volunteering with The Charleston Light Opera Guild. She devoted much of her time and energy after retirement working with Kanwaha Valley Senior Services, and to caring for her 3 year old grand daughter, Azariah Armstead.
Mrs. Armstead is survived by her husband of 30 years, Wesley Curtis Armstead; brother, Tim Brown; son, Corey Armstead; step-daughter Crystal Good; four grand children and a loving host of extended family and friends.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 13 at Levi Missionary Baptist Church, Rand with Pastors James Jackson and Ray Jones officiating.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
