Stephen "Steve" F. Vickers, 73, of Dunbar passed on November 22, 2025 after a long illness.

He was born on December 27, 1951 in Dunbar to the late Fred and Juanita "Sissy" Vickers.

Steve graduated from Dunbar High School class of 1969. He was a life long employee of Conrail Railroad from which he retired.  Steve enjoyed the outdoors especially camping and fishing.  He was also known to have a soft spot for stray animals many of which he took into his home.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his younger brother, Lennie Vickers.

Steve is survived by his three daughters, Carrie Ross (James), Bridgett Shamblin (Skeeter), Stephanie Foster (Andrew); grandchildren, Andrew, Edgar, Kelsey, Solomon, Savannah, Preston, Will, Mason, Oliver; great-grandchildren, Walker, Hunter, Julia, Emma, Owen, and Grayson; sisters, Patty Absten (Danny), Barbara Vickers, Wendy Holtzman (Dave), and Lane Farmer; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Dunbar Center and special friends, neighbors and caretakers, Jennifer and Robbie, Huck, and Kirk for their loving care and support.

A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26 at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
