Stephen DeWayne Rowley, 70, from Hurricane, WV, died April 23, 2026, in Houston, TX.

He worked in Federal Law Enforcement for 23 years. After his retirement, he continued to work in the West Virginia U.S. Attorney’s Office as a financial analyst until July of 2026.

Steve grew up in Dunbar graduating form Dunbar High School and West Virginia State College. He attended Dunbar United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Macel Rowley.

Steve was married for 46 years to Bonnie Jack Rowley, and had one son, Brent Rowley (Katie), and one granddaughter, Hazel Fay Rowley. He is also survived by two brothers, Randy Rowley (Kim) and Kevin Rowley (Jill); along with several nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted husband and father and a loyal friend to many.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Dunbar United Methodist Church.

A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church.
