Sylvia Pauline Starkey, 94, of Dunbar peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Sweetbriar Assisted Living in Dunbar, WV.

She was born December 24, 1931 to the late Stanton Lewis and Esther Gladys Campbell.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Jean Ann Starkey and Steve and Leslie Starkey; her brother, Gary Campbell; and grandson, Kevin Starkey.

Sylvia Pauline and Jarrett Ray Starkey were just shy of their 74th wedding anniversary on Ground Hog's Day, February 2, 2026. She is survived by her husband, Jarrett Ray Starkey; her daughters, Pamela Starkey and JoAnn Hayes (Ralph); her brothers, Daniel Keith Campbell (Emogene) of WV, Donald Campbell of OH, and Mike Campbell (Tereasa) of NC; along with seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The help and prayers from friends and family have been very encouraging and uplifting.  Thank you to the entire staff at Sweetbriar Assisted Living for you gentle care, loving friendship and inclusion in activities for Sylvia.  You made her stay there pleasant and enjoyable while putting a smile on her face often.  We appreciate each of the aids and nurses who loved her and touched her life in a special way.  Many thanks to all the needed workers behind the scenes.  The help and care that Hospice provided was also greatly appreciated.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Family will welcome visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
