Obituary

Mrs. Tamer Lee "Tammy" Ginther Thomas, age 63, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Hubbard Hospice House West after a brief illness.

She was born August 22, 1957, in Kanawha County, to the late Paul Eugene and Ruby Pleasants Ginther.

Tammy was a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School and a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her birth mother, Geraldine "Jerry" Ginther Lewis; husband, John "Shawn" Wesley Thomas; sons, Charles "Chuckie" Kenneth Woodson, Jr. and Shawn Lee Thomas; and grandson, Paul Eugene Ginther Woodson.

Tammy is survived by her daughters, Marie Woodson Harper of Spencer and Natalie Woodson and fiancé David Watkins of Elkview; sons, Travis Thomas of Charleston and Steven Thomas and wife Montana of Ripley; sisters, Paula Ward of Dunbar, Meka Harper and husband Jack of Rand, Ruby Long of Charleston and Susan and husband Fletcher Hunter of Greensboro, NC; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hubbard Hospice House, CAMC General and CAMC Memorial Hospitals; and Golden Living Center - Riverside for their care.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 30, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, July 31, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
