Obituary

Teresa Sue Ballengee (Parks), 64, of Saint Albans, unexpectedly passed away peacefully with her children by her side on April 13, 2026.

Born on September 15, 1961, at Clark Air Base Hospital in the Philippines, Teresa was a 1979 graduate of Saint Albans High School. She married the love of her life, Mark Daniel Ballengee, on May 28, 1983, and together they built a life centered on family, love, and shared memories.

Teresa dedicated 28 years of service to the Kanawha County Juvenile Probation office before retiring. She was known for her caring nature, quiet strength, and devotion to helping others.

In her free time, Teresa found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved sitting on her back porch, painting, working puzzles, and listening to classic rock. Her greatest happiness, however, came from time spent with her family—especially her grandchildren. She cherished doing arts and crafts with them, playing games, and even joining in on Wii competitions. Teresa was a proud and enthusiastic supporter at her grandchildren's sporting events and show choir performances.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark Daniel Ballengee, and her parents, David and Elizabeth Parks.

Teresa is survived by her loving children, Timothy Bradley (Kendra) of Saint Albans and Jessica Ballengee-Murphy (Joseph) of Nitro; her sisters, Lisa Reed, Melinda Husk (David), and Patricia Breslend (Tim); her brothers, David Parks (Heather) and Craig Parks (Julie); her cherished grandchildren, McKenzie, Jordan, Preston, and Dexter; her great-grandchild, Romari; and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

The family would like to thank the many EMT's, St. Albans Fire Department  and the Emergency room staff from WVU Medicine- Thomas Hospital for their kindness and compassion during Teresa's final journey; Dr. Chadwell, Cody Perry, RN, Katherine White, RN, Brianne Hannigan, RN, Lauren Holcomb, RN, Lauren Brill, RT, Micheala Miller, RT.

In accordance with her wishes, Teresa will be cremated and laid to rest beside her husband.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Graceland Memorial Park in South Charleston.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local women's outreach program in Teresa's honor.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
