Terry Lou Shank Carney, 78, of Nitro, passed away Oct. 23, 2006, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was a homemaker and a cook for Kanawha County Schools with over 30 years of service. Terry was a Christian and a member of the Nitro Church of God where she served faithfully.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert F. Stevens and Willard L. "Bill" Carney, her daughter, Martha Sue Stevens Varner, sister, Dixie Gray and by her brother, James "Sonny" Adamson.
Mrs. Carney is survived by her mother, Zelma E. Adamson of Medina, OH; daughter, Cheryl Arthur and her husband, Rusty of Hurricane; sons, Robert F. Stevens and his wife, Shelba of Cross Lanes and Edward L. Carney and his wife, Sandy of Abingdon, Va; sister, Ellen Browning and her husband, Carlos of Medina, OH; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Terry will be sadly missed by her family, her church family, her friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Robert VanFossen officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
